Witnesses tell moments Turkish occupation shelled Darbasiyyah villages

Since the 9th of last month, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries from Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS have launched violent attacks on northern and eastern areas of Syria, using planes and heavy artillery in bombing the populated areas, which caused the displacement of thousands of them in addition to the death and injury of hundreds.

Villages west of Darbasiyyah district, like other areas, witnessed indiscriminate shelling by the Turkish occupation with drones and artillery, which led to the forced displacement of hundreds of the villagers to the cities of Qamishlo and Hasakah, where the villages live in a state of instability and intense fear.

The village of Karamani, which is about 3 km from the center of the Darbasiyyah district and from the Turkish border about 800 m, with a population of 800 to 900 people, witnessed indiscriminate shelling by the Turkish occupation, despite the absence of any military centers there and the shelling that targeted the village directly led to the displacement of many civilians towards Hasakah, the villagers told Hawar News Agency reporter.

Abdul Baqi, a resident of the border village of Qaramani, also witnessed the direct Turkish shelling of civilian homes. “I have been there since the beginning of the Turkish attack on northern and eastern Syria,” he said.

Abdel-Baqi asserts that the village does not have any military points for the SDF and the ISF, but that the village witnessed violent shelling with indiscriminate shelling targeting civilian houses and my nephew was hit by a shell while he was in the garden.

"We have been living in our villages in safety and no one has attacked the Turkish border, but the Turkish state continuously threatens the security and safety of our areas," he said.

Abdul Baqi called on human rights organizations to stop the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the areas of northern and eastern Syria.

'My house was bombed directly'

Dilu Shams al-Din, from Qaramani village, whose house was also shelled by the Turkish occupation forces during the evening hours of the first day of the Turkish aggression on northern, eastern and Syrian areas. He said "The direct Turkish terrorist attack is on the people of the region, not just on the military forces.”

"We were sitting on the balcony of our house, when one of the shells fell on my house, and demolished the edges of the house, so I rushed to get my family out of that house and sent them to another place so that they could be safe," he said.

He stressed that the Turkish occupation that night targeted the village with several shells, all targeted inside the village and civilian homes, although the village is empty of military points, spreading fear among the people.

He called on the international countries and human rights organizations to intervene urgently to save the people of northern and eastern Syria from the attacks of the Turkish occupation and their mercenaries, and to stop the attacks that killed dozens of civilians.
