Al-Bab people formed "civil gathering" to prevent Turkish occupation violations

The initiative and the processes of forming "Families Gathering of al-Bab City" promoting the project and the preparatory meetings held in this regard has not been welcomed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, as it carries in the form of clear messages calling for reducing the interference of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the affairs of the city and demanding their expulsion from the city, in particular as a response to the violations committed against the people by these mercenaries.

Where the mercenaries of the so-called “Euphrates Shield”, in cooperation with officers of the Turkish intelligence, tried in various ways to intervene and close the way to this initiative, through the method of discrimination between the people, and raiding some neighborhoods that were preparing to hold civil preparatory meetings to start the formation of this civil assembly, as well as attempts to entice some of the personalities to gain and take some of the people involved in this initiative to its side.

In this context, the people of the city were able to identify their representatives to the preparatory meeting which may help them in salvation and to be a legitimate interlocutor for al-Bab city's people in various local and international forums. At the first meeting, they managed to gather about 120 representatives of the city's residents, and called on the General Body of the initiative to represent their components within the formation that may be achieved in the future

On January 25, the parents held an extensive meeting in al-Bab city in the presence of about 1,000 people from various components. They came to approve the naming of this structure on behalf the "Family Gathering of al-Bab City" and to approve the provisions and demands adopted by the assembly in its manifesto.

The formation of the structure, which represents the people of al-Bab at the "Families Gathering of al-Bab city", the selection of seven members as the general secretariat of the assembly, and the selection of the advisory body of the public body composed of 24 members, consider the assembly as a means to represent the people of the city as a result of the current situation in the region from the lack of services and insecurity, to move away from fanaticism in all its forms, to participate in the management of the city within the current Turkish institutions in the region and far from currently providing any kind of services to the people, to reduce violations committed by the de facto authorities in the city of al-Bab, demanding all the rights of the people of the city and their property confiscated by the ruling military forces and the control of the city, to demand the cessation of detention of the people of the region, whatever the pretext is, to promote relations with all parties in the service of the city, implement the law on all parties and not to allow the spread of chaos and prevent bribes."

The city of al-Bab is a city belonging to the Syrian province of Aleppo in the north of Syria, occupied since 2016 by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries of the so-called “Euphrates Shield, after they received the city from IS mercenaries under an agreement.
