New study for restoration of archaeological sites in al-Raqqa

The Committee of Tourism and Antiquities in al-Raqqa Civil Council works on the restoration of archaeological sites in al-Raqqa city which were destroyed by the mercenaries, especially the museum, al-Rashid Wall, Baghdad Archaeological Door and other archaeological sites located in the city and its countryside.

IS mercenaries left behind the destruction of the infrastructure of al-Raqqa city and screams in the hearts of the people of al-Raqqa city due to following methods of systematic killing and destruction, not to mention the thieving and selling of antiquities.

The mercenaries stole many of the antiquities related to al-Raqqa and its culture, the most important antiquities stolen by IS mercenaries and other factions is a picture of two goats clamping a palm and a goat suckling its newborn, and a plate made of limestone like marble.

Glittering pieces of Islamic faience, glass lamps in the shape of a cup of different sizes and measurements chandelier, ancient inscriptions, a large number of multi-cylinder seals from several sites in al-Raqqa.

In addition to a long pottery model with floral motifs at its base, its body ribbed from the site of Tel al-Bayah.

The co-chair of Tourism and Antiquities Hassen al-Mustafa said, "We work in coordination with al-Raqqa Civil Council on a new study of archaeological sites to be rehabilitated through engineers specialized in archaeological sites to restore the archaeological sites to the world-class destination in terms of importance and historical date.

Al-Mustafa said during his speech, "The brick factory will be rehabilitated through which the grilled bricks will be manufactured in the ovens to rehabilitate the archaeological sites, including the museum, al-Rasheed Wall and Baghdad Bab (Door)."
