Dêrik people: "We want Ocalan's freedom"

The people of Dêrik denounced the isolation imposed on Ocalan by the Turkish state, stressing the need to continue resistance and struggle till he is released from prison.

With regard to the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan and preventing his lawyers from meeting him despite the submission of hundreds of requests for the visit, ANHA agency conducted interviews with a number of people of Dêrik city in Qamishlo who confirmed their continued struggle until the achievement of Ocalan's freedom.

Fermez Hamo said, "The goal of Turkey is to keep the Kurdish people away from the ideology and philosophy of the leader. The isolation began since arresting the leader Abdullah Ocalan and putting him in Imrali prison."

Hamo also said that Ocalan is the philosopher of the democratic nation and is considered a symbol of the oppressed peoples in the Middle East because he thwarted all schemes that aim at peace and security of peoples.

In the course of his speech, he pointed out that the visit of Ocalan's brother to him is not enough to satisfy the aspirations of the Kurdish people, calling on all peace-lovers to escalate the struggle until the liberation of Ocalan from the prisons of the fascist Turkey in Imrali prison.

In turn the citizen Aisha Obeid said, "The project of the Autonomous Administration in the north and east of Syria was a unique and successful experience, and adopted the thought and philosophy of the democratic nation in co-existence as a basis for it."

She added, "Human rights organizations have not done their duty to the leader Abdullah Ocalan who has been detained for 20 years in the prisons of the fascist Turkish state because he is as a political figure who demands the legitimate rights of peoples."

Aisha considered that the philosophy of the leader as a new birth for women through their participation in all aspects of life, the establishment of projects for women, and getting all their rights.

At the end of her speech, Aisha Obeid said that Ocalan is not only a person, but a representation of the will of the people, and no one has the right to isolate the leader from the people.
