"We do not need buffer zone under Turkish supervision"

The Turkish presidency claimed in a statement on January 14th that the Turkish president and his US counterpart discussed in a telephone conversation the relations between the two countries, the situation in Syria, and the establishment of a "buffer zone" in the north of Syria under the Turkish supervision.

ANHA agency conducted an interview with the people of Ain Issa on the establishment of a buffer zone in the north and east of Syria, where the parents affirmed their categorical rejection of this zone under the supervision of Turkey, and the need for the presence of UN peacekeepers to oversee the region away from any Turkish role if it's establishment would be necessary.

The citizen Mohammed Issa, one of Ain Issa district's people expressed his rejection of this proposal and said, "Our area does not need a buffer zone as it witnesses a state of security and safety. It is under its people's protection."

And about the reasons for the parents' rejection of any Turkish role in the "buffer zone" that is being talked about, the citizen Zarifa Mawas said, "We reject the Turkish intervention under the pretext of supervision of this region to ensure that the Turkish aggression against the people of the region would not repeat as happened in the city of Afrin from killing, rape, theft and crimes against humanity there."

While the citizen Shahnaz Dawood said, "If Turkey wants to establish a buffer zone, it must be within the territory of Turkey. Our regions are safe and do not need this buffer zone."
