24 days of sit-in... Kobanî residents rejected occupation

The Turkish President Recap Teyyip Erdogan has threatened to occupy areas of northern and eastern Syria since the 13th of last December. After the announcement of Autonomous Administration the general alarm, the people of northern and eastern Syria have organized a sit-in on the border strip and stood as human shields in front of the occupation.

In Kobanî, the people have been holding a sit-in for 24 days without stopping, rejecting the Turkish occupation. On Wednesday, representatives of Kongra Star, representatives of Democratic Society Movement and members of civil institutions in Kobanî participated in the event.

Under the sit-in tent, the member of the Council of the Democratic Society Movement Abdul Rahman Damah said, "We need such events in order to face the Turkish threats. Our activities will achieve their objectives."

Aisha Effendi spoke on behalf of the Democratic Society Movement referring to the resistance of women and said, "Kurdish women resist everywhere and every times, but they have to step up the struggle more to reach the ideology and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan. We are here thanks to the sacrifice of our martyrs. We will break the enemies."

The activities of Wednesday ended with chanting the slogans that salute the martyrs.
