The General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement to the media and public opinion regarding the statement issued by the American White House to withdraw their forces from the liberated areas in northern and eastern Syria. The statement included,

"At a time when we are engaged into fierce battles against terrorism in its last strongholds as well as fighting dormant cells and the hidden terrorist elements in the liberated areas that seek to reorganize themselves in the area, the decision of the White House to withdraw from northern and eastern Syria will negatively affect the campaign of combating terrorism and will give the terrorism and its supporters a political, field and military momentum to recover again and carry out a counter-terrorist campaign in the area.

We assure to the international public opinion that the fight against terrorism has not ended yet, and IS mercenaries have not been defeated completely yet, but it is a decisive and crucial stage that requires concerted efforts by everybody and a support greater than the International Coalition's to continue and increase all forms of support to the combating forces. The withdrawal will lead directly to striking the final efforts of eliminating the terrorist organization, and will have serious repercussions that affect the global peace and stability. It will also disappoint the hopes of the peoples of the area in the security and stability as the withdrawal in such circumstances will lead to a state of instability, undermining the security and creating a political and military gap in the area in addition to leaving its peoples in the clutches of the hostile forces and enemies."
