The United Nations Security Council on Thursday approved the extension of humanitarian aid to Syria across the border.

During the UN Security Council session, Syria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Bashar al-Jafari, said that the UN monitoring mechanism can not verify the arrival of cross-border assistance to its beneficiaries to date.

Al-Jafari explained that the vast majority of these operations are currently taking place across the Syrian-Turkish border and are directed to areas of the spread of "terrorist gangs" that confiscate this aid and distribute it to its elements and their families.

Al-Jafari said that the mechanism has stood helpless over the past four years against the abuse of these crossings by some neighboring countries, which exploited "to support terrorist gangs and to smuggle these gangs of factories, traces and oil materials into their territory."

Al-Jafari added that the Turkish regime used the border crossings with Syria "to smuggle weapons and terrorists instead of humanitarian aid."

He pointed out that there are dozens of Turks in the prisons of customs officers and judges were put in prison because they revealed this reality, noting that the cars sent from the crossings "do not carry humanitarian aid, but a weapon."

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the Turkish regime has supported the mercenary gangs in various forms of support. The Turkish regime has opened the country's airports to mercenaries from all over the world and facilitated their passage to both Syria and Iraq to fight with IS mercenaries and Jabhit al-Nusra and other mercenary gangs.
