Afrin people: International Forum is platform to expose violations, policies of Turkish occupation, mercenaries

Under the auspices of Rojava Center for Strategic Studies, on May 2, 2009 in Amuda district, an International Forum on Ethnic Cleansing and Demographic Change in Afrin was held, and it was attended by international academicians, politicians and administrators from civil society organizations in the Syrian North and the world. The forum lasted for three consecutive days.

The participants in the forum discussed the ethnic cleansing and the demographic change that is taking place in Afrin by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries after they occupied it on the 18th of last March. The forum ended with a concluding statement containing several recommendations that would expose the Turkish aggression policy in Afrin and support the lines that guarantee the return of the people to Afrin.

Forum aims to resolve the Syrian crisis

On this forum, ANHA agency met with the people of Afrin who displaced forcibly after the occupation of the Turkish army, where the citizen Mohammd Ali Husein  said that since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, some countries and external parties claim that they seek to develop solutions and limit the crisis in the region of the failure of Sochi, Astana and Geneva.

The forum, which was held in Amuda, with the participation of a variety of people who were injured in the attacks and their narrating of the events to the public opinion, is an important forum for liberating Afrin and solving the Syrian crisis.

Forum is a platform to expose the schemes and violations of the Turkish occupation and mercenaries

For her part, the citizen Alifa Beker praised the International Forum on Ethnic Cleansing and Demographic Change in Afrin where they found the credibility and sense of the suffering of Afrin people.

She said that holding a series of meetings and sessions as happened in this forum will bring with them wide resonance at all levels and will be a platform to expose the violations and plans of the Turkish occupation army and its terrorist mercenaries.

We hope that the recommendations will be implemented and that the international community will support them

In the context, Hamza Rashid described the recommendations issued in the final statement of the forum to be positive and able to put the occupation of the Turkish army and its terrorist mercenaries to Afrin on the list of all the countries of the world which had the duty to raise the voice of right and reject the Turkish aggression against humanity and the Syrians in Afrin.

Hamza hoped to implement the recommendations on the ground, the most important of which is to expose the policy of the Turkish occupation army and its terrorist mercenaries against the civilians in Afrin and to quickly meet the needs of the displaced people in al-Shahba canton, impose an air embargo and remove the Turkish occupation from Afrin for the residents to return safely to their homes and recover their property looted by Turkey.
