Stanislav Ivanov: Ankara aims to eliminate fighters who struggled against international terrorism

The activities of the International Forum on Ethnic Cleansing and Demographic Change in Afrin continue with the third session, which focuses on the rights aspect of ethnic cleansing, after the report of the Rojava Association for Relief and Development, the report of Rami Abdul Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory, and the lecture of Dr.Zozan Ibrahim, holding a doctorate in civil law, a professor at Euphrates University and a member of the Geneva Appeal, then the report of the Doctor in Historical Sciences and researcher at the Center for International Security of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the State Counsel of the Russian Federation and retired Colonel Stanislav Ivanov was read.

The report was read by a member of the Center for Strategic Studies, Jihan Khalil.

The  report included:

"There are thousands of kilometers between Amouda and Moscow, but the Russian people are united with you." At first I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity, and I expressed my love for the courage of the Kurdish fighters in fighting IS. I want to say that their struggles are unparalleled. The fighters will enter history in the widest possible way, many of whom sacrificed themselves in order to stand up to the injustice that was imposed by IS.

At the same time, Erdogan supported the jihadists, the power in Syria and Iraq betrayed their people, sitting fearfully in their palaces, their armies miraculously fleeing battlefields and leaving their weapons in the squares, but the Kurdish strugglers with their light weapons stood in front of IS mercenaries who was heavily armed with tanks and cannons. In Kobanî they defeated IS and then the alleged state of the caliphate in the north and east of Syria, which IS called for, the Kurdish fighters maintained the legacy of the ancestors.

The deliberate violations of the Turkish State, have not yet received appropriate international condemnation by the United Nations and international organizations. So far no one has stood up to Erdogan's attacks on our country, Syria. One cannot contemplate anything from the Syrian government or Iran. The denunciation of Damascus and Tehran was limited to statements. They did not provide any practical assistance to the Kurds. Not only that, so far the Kurds have not been invited to the meetings of Astana, Sochi or Geneva. Now the Syrian regime and the Turkish state want through their talks attempt to conceal Kurds’  existence, they want to impose this internationally. I hope that your forum will become an important step to attract public opinion to the events that took place in Afrin and the Kurdish cause in general. Russia supports the participation of the Kurds in the talks on Syria.

I am confident that the Kurdish movement can triumph politically and socially. Remove the contradictions and differences between the Kurds, will become the best response to the attempts of the enemies of the Kurds. In Ankara, Damascus, Tehran and Baghdad, are trying to spread strife among the Kurds, so as to put a rift and hostility between the Kurds. I know that the Kurdish people are not dragged behind these provocations, and see the forces in the same to stand in front of all attacks and threats, the Kurds will take their place in the region and will gain the right and freedom like all other peoples in the Middle East. It is not important how they determine their destiny, it may be through federalism or an independent state, but the important thing is that their decision is subjective, that the rights of the Kurds be protected legally.
