Farah Saber describes what is going on in Afrin as kind of genocide

The proceedings of the International Forum on Ethnic Cleansing and Demographic Change continue in Afrin, where the first session is being held. After the speech of David Phillips and Aldar Khalil, Dr. Farah Saber Mohammed PhD in modern and contemporary history, specializing in Iranian, Turkish and Middle East issues said that Turkey follows the coarse policy in the region and establishes a new reality that is different from the reality of the region.

She said "Erdogan must respect international conventions and respect the rights of neighboring countries."

Farah noted that what is happening in Afrin is a kind of demographic change and the imposition of a policy of fait accompli in the region through the policy of settling foreigners instead of the indigenous people of Afrin.

She said, "I would like to point out that what is happening from Afrin and northern Syria is a kind of cultural and linguistic genocide. Turkey says it is establishing a new reality through soft politics, but acts are different from reality and what is clear is that Turkey follows the coarse policy."

According to Dr. Farah Saber, there are many goals for Turkey, she summarized them as follows: Turkey's goals are clear, saying that it wants to provide security, but in its own perspective, everyone knows that the liberated areas of northern Syria have been characterized since the beginning of the crisis security and Turkish entry was a cause of instability and chaos, Turkey also wants to push SDF east of the Euphrates, but it goes beyond these lines and also violates the east of Euphrates as it attacks from time to time. It also wants to be a decision maker in Syria and a part of the reconstruction of Syria and thus it imposed its policy in the region, we note that Turkey is rebelling in its demands through attacks from time to time, and now imposes the policy of "Turkification.” 

As for the Russian-Turkish relationship, Farah said: "These relations were built on interests. Russia is trying to preserve the legitimacy of the regime, the occupation of Afrin is a kind of collusion between Russia and Turkey, as Russia gave the green light to occupy Afrin to extend the influence of the regime in Idlib."

Farah said, "Turkey's goal with the relationship with Washington is to prevent the people of northern Syria from becoming a military and political ally with America to resolve the Syrian crisis."

Dr. Farah Saber said at the end of her speech, "The Iranians are providing services to the Turks to maintain their presence in Syria and to maintain the regime's forces in the region. Tehran understands that changing conditions in the region will affect Turkish-Iranian relations."
