Shura Council for al-Raqqa, al-Tabqa, Deir-ez-Zor's areas formed

The religious institutions in the areas of al-Raqqa, Deir-ez-Zor and al-Tabqa has held on Wednesday a meeting at Abu Dar al-Ghafari Mosque in Hammar al-Ali in the western countryside of Deir-ez-Zor with the aim of forming a Shura council in the area.

DEIR-EZ-ZOR

The meeting was attended by dozens of clerics, members of the religious affairs institution in Deir-ez-Zor, al-Raqqa and al-Tabqa members of religious institutions in North Syria and the general supervisor of religious affairs institutions in North Syria, Duran al-Hashemi.

The meeting began with the recitation of Holy Quran by the clergy. Later, the general supervisor of the religious institutions in North Syria, Duran al-Hashemi explained the concept of forming the council and its role in spreading the correct Islamic thought, pointing out that Shura Council is considered the legislative council to make decisions in religious terms.

On the tasks of the council, Hashemi added that they have been preparing an internal system of institutions of religious affairs in the cities of the Euphrates basin, and has developed two laws to rent property owned by institutions, and the preparation of summer curriculum for children in mosques and the preparation of prayer times for the three cities to unite mosques’ calls for prayer.

9 members were elected in the meeting in addition to the election of Ahmad Al-Harouni as spokesperson of the Shura Council.
