Meeting held in al-Raqqa western countryside

In order to hear the views and problems facing the people of al-Raqqa's western countryside, the Public Relations Office of SDF forces held a meeting in al-Khayala village in al-Raqqa's western countryside.

The meeting was attended by the clans’ notables and sheikhs of al-Tabqa, al-Raqqa and Serin, the Presidential Body of the Democratic Syria Council (MSD) Hassen Mohammed Ali, the co-chair of al-Raqqa Civil Council Abed Hamed al-Mehbash and many people of the western countryside.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence, after which the member of the Presidential Body of MSD Hassen Mohamed Ali explained in his speech the latest political developments, especially the events that took place in the conference held in Ain Issa district.

Hassen Mohammed Ali said, "You are the ones who have the right to know what is going on in the conferences that are being held and what decision will be taken regarding the Syrian North. The people of the North will have the right to know the content of the conferences and they have the right to express their views on any decision or step taken by the MSD."

Hassen Mohammed Ali concluded, "There is no future for the Syrian regime in al-Raqqa, and all the rumors that are being promoted stating that there will be a security box in al-Raqqa for the regime are wrong. We, as MSD, assure you that there will be no security box in al-Raqqa."

Many speeches were delivered on behalf of the sheikhs of al-Raqqa's clans among them a speech delivered by Sheikh Muhammad Nur al-Thib, a speech on behalf of al-Tabqa clans' elders and sheikhs read by Sheikh Fawaz al-Beek and a speech on behalf of the free woman in al-Raqqa by a member of the Syrian Women Council Zulikha Abdi. All the speeches stated that the elders and sheikhs of al-Raqqa tribes and the people continue to support the SDF and they do not accept any regimes or any forces to intervene or try to enter al-Raqqa and its countryside except for SDF.

Then, the people began to oppose some service and life problems facing them such as the problem of irrigation water and electricity in some places in the western countryside such Kadiran and al-Selhabia al-Gharbiya (West) villages and discuss the ways to resolve them.

In conclusion, the co-chair of al-Raqqa Civil Council in the western countryside promised that the council will deliver their problems and proposals to all concerned parties to seek to resolve them.
