Closing roads between al-Shahba, other areas threatens people’s lives

With the onset of summer and rising the temperatures in addition to emerging insects, diseases are increasing and spreading among the people, and that increases the suffering of the people of Afrin living in al-Shahba especially with the lack of medicines and medical equipment.

The administrator in Avrin Hospital in Fafin district Dr. Azad Sabri said that the people in al-Shahba suffer from the spread of many diseases, including skin leishmaniasis and some internal diseases such as tuberculosis and chest disease as a result of the high temperatures.

Sabri added, "The dangerous thing is that we do not have the necessary medicines to treat these diseases, there are also poisonous insects and snakes that spread during this period."

Sabri pointed out that they have to send many cases of illness out of the canton, but closing the roads doubles the suffering of the people.

Dr. Sabri appealed to the humanitarian organizations and Human Rights organizations to provide help to the people in al-Shahba canton.
