Water returning to al-Kasrat area in al-Raqqa

The Water Committee of the People's Municipality in al-Raqqa city was able to return water to the southern bank of the Euphrates River after a work that took about 3 months.

Water was pumped into agricultural irrigation channels and drinking water channels after the electricity network was connected to the "Raqqa 2" pump to pump water into irrigation channels and drinking water pipes.

Before pumping water, the Water Committee of the People's Municipality in Raqqa cleaned agricultural irrigation channels from the dirt and dirt accumulated in the channels.

The committee also worked on repairing damaged drinking water pipes, and the work on pipes and pipes continued for about 3 months.

The pump "Raqqa 2" feeds a section of the neighborhoods of al-Raqqa city and al-Kasrat area with drinking water. The pump also feeds the area of the cisterns with irrigation water and irrigates more than 10,000 dunums in the area.

Farmer Mohammed Hamza said, "We in al-Kasrat area rely mainly on agriculture, which is our only source of livelihood, and we thank the efforts of al-Raqqa Civil Council."
