13 killed, 4 injured in 14 security incidents across Syria within 24 hours

Fourteen crimes and security incidents were recorded across Syria over the past 24 hours, ranging from deliberate killings and armed clashes to landmine explosions, resulting in the deaths of 13 people and injuries to four others.

Various areas of Syria witnessed a series of violent incidents during the past day, including clashes, armed attacks, and mine explosions, in what residents describe as a sign of escalating lawlessness.

In the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, clashes broke out in several locations amid the continued destruction of makeshift oil refineries by the authorities of the Syrian interim government.

Three members of the Ministry of Defense affiliated with the interim government were also killed after a military position in the city of al-Mayadin, east of Deir ez-Zor, was targeted.

The town of Dhiban in Deir ez-Zor’s countryside saw heightened security measures following gunfire from machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades fired in celebration of a detainee’s release from prison.

In Raqqa, armed assailants targeted a General Security patrol on the Raqqa–Tabqa road. Four security personnel were killed in an armed attack on the al-Sabahiya checkpoint at the western entrance to the city of Raqqa.

The body of a General Security member was also found near the dam in the town of al-Mansoura in western Raqqa countryside.

In the countryside of Azaz, heavy security mobilization took place in the town of Ihtaymilat following clashes between two families that resulted in one fatality.

In the city of Homs, teacher Iman Matanios Jrous, 47, was shot dead with a silenced pistol in the Akrama neighborhood in an incident attributed to armed assailants.

In Rural Damascus, a young man was killed and another seriously injured when a hand grenade exploded while being handled inside a house in al-Joura neighborhood in Jaramana camp. One died instantly, while the other was transported to hospital for treatment.

In western Sweida countryside, factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense carried out direct shelling targeting civilian homes in the village of al-Majdal, according to a statement by the National Guard.

A young man was killed and another injured in the city of Ras al-Ain in Hasakah countryside after a verbal dispute escalated into gunfire targeting their home.

In the northern Aleppo countryside, a man was shot dead by his cousin following a financial dispute.

Meanwhile, two young men sustained varying injuries after a landmine left over from the war exploded in the village of al-Gharra in the Jabal Abdul Aziz (Kizwan) area, southwest of Hasakah.
