As-Suwayda, located in southern Syria, witnessed fierce clashes over the past two days that claimed the lives of 116 individuals. Among the dead were 64 local residents, including two children and two women, and 52 members of the Transitional Government forces and armed Bedouins, according to the Syrian Observatory (SOHR).

Following the intense fighting, the Transitional Government's Minister of Defense, Murhaf Abu Qasra, ordered all military units within the city to cease fire. The announcement was made through a post on social media after reaching an agreement with the city’s elders and dignitaries, stipulating that forces should only respond to "sources of fire and deal with any attacks from armed groups operating outside the law."
