10 killed in Syria within one day

At least 10 people were killed in Syria in the past 24 hours, in incidents ranging from assassinations to summary executions and accidental killings, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

In the Latakia countryside, four people, including an Alawite child, were killed by unknown gunmen near a brigade in Zama. In Daraa, a woman was killed by a stray bullet while her son was playing with a machine gun at home.

The head of the cooperative in the village of Ain al-Jamajmeh in the eastern Aleppo countryside was also killed by unknown gunmen. Two young Druze men were summarily executed in the Damascus countryside by gunmen affiliated with the Damascus government, days after their arrest.

In the western Homs countryside, the body of a young man was found executed by summary execution after being arrested by members of the Damascus government. In the city of Hama, a man was shot dead by unknown gunmen on a motorcycle, accused of collaborating with the Baathist regime.

These facts indicate an escalation in violations in areas controlled by the Damascus government, amid continued security chaos and the proliferation of armed forces.
