Turkish army and its mercenaries kidnap and arrest civilians in occupied Afrin
The Afrin region occupied by the Turkish army and its mercenaries witnessed 33 cases of kidnapping and arrest of civilians, in addition to the cutting of hundreds of fruit trees, and $5,400,000 was imposed on farmers in the Sheh and Mobata districts.
The Human Rights Organization Afrin - Syria documented more crimes committed by the Turkish army and its mercenaries in the Afrin region during last November.
According to the human rights organization, during the past month, 33 cases of kidnapping and arrest of civilians, including 4 women occurred, and 15 people were injured in the Afrin and Shahba regions as a result of the security chaos and the bombing operations taking place in the occupied areas.
As part of the continuation of the demographic change policy pursued by the Turkish occupation in Afrin, the occupation completed the construction of a settlement in the Mobata district under the supervision of the so-called “Watan Organization,” and the “Basma Village” settlement was expanded in the Shadera village in the Sherawa district.
The occupation army and its mercenaries continued to target the livelihoods of civilians, as hundreds of fruit trees were cut down in tens of hectares of land containing forest trees in order to sell and trade firewood, the process of imposing royalties and taxes on the olive crop and stealing citizens’ crops also continued.
The organization indicated that more than "5,400,000" five million and four hundred thousand US dollars were imposed on Kurdish farmers by the so-called economic office affiliated with the mercenaries of "Sultan Suleiman Shah - Al-Amshat" in the "Sheh and Mobata" districts of the occupied Afrin countryside.
The human rights organization confirmed that war crimes have been committed in the Afrin region since its occupation in 2018 until now. it believed that the aim of these crimes was to impose demographic change and erase the Kurdish and Syrian identity.
