On the occasion of the International Women's Day, women's organizations, political parties and military councils continue to issue statements which indicate that women in Rojava have had a strong will by organizing themselves and striving for their rights.
In this context, the Council of Women of the Kurdistan Green Party issued a statement, in which it congratulated the struggle of Leyla Guven, political prisoners and leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan on this occasion and said in their statement that he leader Ocalan guided Kurdish women to the road of freedom.
The text of the statement is:
In their ongoing struggle, women have been able to obtain some of their rights in freedom and equality, which they have been denied for thousands of years.
Now that we are in the twenty-first century, we as women have demonstrated that we can organize ourselves and triumph over the injustice that afflicts us.
We have been able to establish a military force of our own, to protect ourselves and our society from every danger.
On the occasion of the International Women's Day, we will share with the world the news of the elimination of IS and the forces loyal to it..
We will also spread the free thought throughout Syria so that women can protect themselves from any aggression.
We promise the women in Rojava, Kurdistan and north-east of Syria, and in all of Syria, that we will follow the path of resistance to achieve our rights, and bring justice and equality to this world full of injustice.
We salute the resistance of the Kurdish activist Leyla Guven and her comrades in their hunger strike to lift the isolation posed on the Kurdish leader Ocalan."
