U.S. imposes additional sanctions on Iran

The U.S. Special Representative for Iran and Venezuela has stated his country would impose more sanctions on Iran before the Presidential elections, scheduled for November 3rd, stressing that sanctions would remain until Iran changes it's behavior.

Elliott Abrams, the U.S. Special Representative for Iran and Venezuela, has stressed that more sanctions would be imposed on Iran in this month, before the American elections, hinting that more are coming even after the elections.

In a dialogue with ''Al-Sharq al-Awsat'' Abrams clarified that '' sanctions on Iran are still in place even in case candidate Joe Biden wins the elections, saying '' if president Donald Trump loses the presidential elections, I think some people in Iran would believe that U.S. sanctions and campaigns would end, but whose dreams are far-fetched."

Abrams considered that ''this belief is a wrong one'', adding: '' We have a lot of sanctions and measures would be imposed against Iranian regime, till changing its behavior, whoever US president is elected.''

It should be noted that Trump's withdrawal in 2018, from the Iran's Nuclear Deal, led to re-imposing a series of sanctions on Iran that shackled it in oil selling.
