“UN report is insufficient, Turkish occupation before mercenaries must be held accountable”

The displaced of Serêkaniyê and Afrin indicated that the United Nations report is not sufficient, compared to what the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries commit on a daily basis against civilians, and they said that Turkey must be held accountable before the mercenaries are held accountable.

The United Nations issued its report, which talks about the Turkish violations and its mercenaries in the regions of northern and eastern Syria, including in the city of Serêkaniyê and the occupied Afrin canton.

The displaced from the city of Serêkaniyê and Afrin also demanded the United Nations to enter the regions of northern and eastern Syria and uncover the facts and daily crimes committed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

In connection with it, our agency conducted interviews with a number of the displaced from the occupied cities of Serêkaniyê and Afrin, about the recent report issued by the United Nations in recent days.

The report is not enough ′

Abdul Qadir Mustafa, a resident of the occupied city of Serêkaniyê, indicated that the report issued by the United Nations, which talks about the Turkish violations and its mercenaries in the city of Serêkaniyê, is insufficient, and said, “They did not directly shed light on the daily violations that take place in the city nor their report includes only some of the violations that took place in the city. "

“Amid daily violations in Serêkaniyê, UN does not fulfil its duties”

He added, "There are daily kidnappings that affect the people of the city and its suburbs, in addition to the robbery, looting, militarization and forcible seizure of civilian homes, and through the latest report it was found that they are not carrying out their duties as required."

Turkey has introduced mercenaries to our regions and they must be held accountable ′

Mustafa pointed out, "The mercenaries' entry into the city of Serêkaniyê and the regions of northern and eastern Syria was through the Turkish occupation, as it is responsible for the crimes committed by the mercenary factions, and therefore the United Nations has a responsibility to hold the Turkish occupation accountable in the beginning before holding the mercenaries loyal to it.

If someone is trying to uncover the facts and crimes, let them be on the ground

In the context of his speech, Mustafa called on "the United Nations to enter the region and reveal the violations that occur in the cities occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, because it relied on some people and gossip, so it must follow the violations on the ground and confirm daily crimes."

They have to hold Turkey accountable for its crimes

At the end of his speech, he demanded the United Nations to hold the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries accountable for the war crimes it committed in Syria legally, according to the report issued by it.

On her part, Farida Mustafa, a resident of the occupied city of Afrin, said: “The crimes that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are pursuing in Afrin since the beginning of their occupation and until today are daily crimes against civilians, children, nature, antiquities and everything that exists within the city.”

The olive trees and the ruins of Afrin were they enemies for the Turkish occupation to cut them down, plunder and destroy them?

She explained, "If the people of Afrin are guilty and the Turkish occupation holds them accountable, what is the sin of the olive trees so that they cut them down? What is the sin of the ruins of that beautiful city in order to destroy and plunder them?"

She added, "There are olive trees that are more than (300 years old) and the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries cut them down. Are these trees loyal?"

Countless daily crimes

Farida Mustafa pointed out in her speech that crimes are taking place on a daily basis against the people of Afrin, so that women are kidnapped, and there are dozens of them in mercenary prisons, in addition to the kidnapping of young men and the demand for ransoms for their release, in addition to countless daily violations.

UN report is very far from the daily violations that are taking place in the region

Farida Mustafa continued her speech by saying, "If the United Nations is satisfied with the report it issued in recent days, let it come to the region and compare its report with the daily violations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries."

European countries and the United Nations should hold Turkey accountable first and the countries that supported it in its crimes in Afrin

At the end of her speech, Farida called on the United Nations and European countries to hold the Turkish occupation accountable for its crimes in the region, and to hold accountable all countries that supported it with weapons and equipment during its attack on the city of Afrin.

A citizen, Madina Muhammad, in her fifties, welcomed the report issued by the investigation committee and said: “The report is a good step, but it is not enough, since the report covered only a small part of the violations and crimes committed by Turkey in Serêkaniyê of looting, plundering and burning homes and shops, which is a drop in the sea of crimes that have been committed. "

Mother Madina demanded to expel the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries from the occupied areas, so that the displaced return to their homes, and continued, "I would like to die in my house."

“The report documented very few crimes”

Antar Aziz, a displaced person from the occupied countryside of Serêkaniyê, explained that the report issued by the United Nations is not sufficient because it documented only a few of the crimes that are being committed. He said: “The crimes that Turkey commits are many."

Aziz added, "The violations committed by the mercenaries in my village are the biggest example. They took my land, and now they cultivate it and stole all my necessities."

At the end of his speech, Aziz demanded that Turkey be tried before international courts and before all  the world.
