UAE provides financial contributions to UN Women

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a financial contribution of US $ 15 million to support UN-Women over the next three years.

The UAE's move to support UN-Women came on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

The new commitment comes in the context of strengthening the partnership with UN-Women since its establishing in 2010, It provided approximately US $ 26 million to its core budget to support UN-Women in carrying out its tasks and implementing its strategy for gender equality and women's empowerment, including through the UN-Women liaison office in Abu Dhabi.

UN-Women, the United Nations Organization for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, is the main global champion of women's issues, established in 2010 with the aim of accelerating progress in meeting their needs globally.
