UAE calls for decisive dealing with terrorism-supporters

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan called for decisive dealing with those who support, embrace, finance or aid extremism.

This came in a speech delivered by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed at the opening of the forty-sixth conference of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi on Friday.

"We call for the adoption of measures to prevent incitement to terrorism and extremism, especially through the media," the UAE Foreign Minister told the participants at the session, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the organization.

"The spread of extremist ideology, terrorism and the continuation of conflicts require us to address the devastating challenges," he said, calling for a greater role for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in maintaining security and peace effectively.
