Turkey uses water as a weapon against NE, Syria, Lebanese government to rule the fall

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria accused the Turkish occupation state of using water as a weapon against its regions, while Turkey ranked third globally among the countries that most use the unblocking program on sites blocked by the Erdogan government, while observers believe that the Lebanese government has become realistic in ruling the fall, but with suspension of execution.

On Saturday morning, Arab press touched upon Turkey's use of water against the regions of northern and eastern Syria, in addition to the Turkish authorities' pursuit of websites, and the Lebanese situation.

The Arab newspapers issued this morning dealt with several issues, the most prominent of which was Turkey's use of the water weapon against northern and eastern Syria. In this context, Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper said: "the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria accused Turkey of using the" water weapon "against its areas by reducing The Euphrates water flows to the east of the Euphrates.

Damascus and Ankara had signed in 1987 a temporary agreement, to share the water of the Euphrates, which ruled that Turkey pass at least 500 cubic meters per second, provided that Syria pass at least 58 percent of it to Iraq under another agreement between Ankara and Baghdad.

The director of dams in the autonomous administration, Muhammad Tarbush, told Al-Sharq al-Awsat yesterday that the average flow from last April is 200 cubic meters per second, meaning that Turkey uses water as a weapon against us, sending water when the lakes are full so that we do not benefit of them, and stop sending water when we need it.”

On Turkish affairs, Al-Arab newspaper said: "Turkey ranked third in the world among the most used countries for the VPN" unblock "program.

After the remarks of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday, which clearly revealed his intention to block and block social networking sites in Turkey and censor them, the Turkish people have once again talked about the use of "VPN" applications.

Turkey ranked third in the world among the most used programs to unblock "VPN", whether to enter blocked sites or to change the user's location by default.

And came in third place in terms of censorship and restrictions on the use of the Internet, ahead of a number of countries such as China.

The results of an analysis conducted by thebestvpn website indicated that the 5 most countries that use VBN programs are Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia, China and India.

The site indicated that 32 percent of Internet users in Turkey use VBN software and applications to enter blocked websites, while China came after Turkey with 31 percent, and Malaysia 29 percent.

Turkey had blocked access to about half a million websites until the end of 2019.

The Freedom of Expression Association published its report entitled “Web Ban 2019” and confirmed that more than 408,000 websites were banned in Turkey until the end of last year.

The Turks have reached a point where no one is looking at blocking new sites as strange, and in fact they are surprised when some sites are still outside the ban list.

The Freedom of Expression Association in Turkey had prepared a report on the websites, newspapers and social media blogs banned by the Turkish authorities in 2018.

The report pointed out that 246.8 thousand websites were blocked until the end of 2018, taking the number of banned sites to about half a million websites last year.

International organizations regularly criticize the deteriorating press freedom situation in Turkey.

Turkey is ranked 157 out of 180 in the ranking of countries in the field of press freedom issued by Reporters Without Borders.

The opposition in Turkey maintains that 95 percent of the media are under government control.

The head of the Turkish Journalists Union, Nazmi Bilgin, says that the media are in one hand. Turkey is in a media system, more than 90 percent of which is working for the government, and the opposition voices are almost silenced, as we note that dozens of newspapers have the same title. Citizen confidence in the media was shaken a lot.

And the US State Department spokeswoman, Morgan Orgutus, announced that Turkey is one of the worst criminals against the press and its employees, and Reporters Without Borders described Turkey as the largest prison for journalists in the world.

The organization announced that "monitoring of websites and social media has reached unprecedented levels and the authorities are now trying to control online video services.

On the Lebanese issue, Al-Bayan newspaper said: "The day after a day of positions mixed with rumors of an expected resignation of the government of President Hassan Diab, the political scene seemed very bleak, and the worst thing in this scene is the feeling of the absence of solutions and exits, as well as the feeling of the Lebanese citizen that it is up to his ability and fate. And about failure The internal proposal to suggest solutions that remove the total collapse from the country, put it on the path of the desired solutions, and restore confidence to the people in its present and future.

And it added: "In light of the frantic developments related to the steady financial deterioration and the fatal government inability to contain its various repercussions, political sources opposed to Al-Bayan summarized the internal political scene that the government has become realistic in ruling the downfall, but with a stay of execution, perhaps for weeks and not more, that It is still pursuing a policy of escaping from its “failure”, by provoking absurd battles, while the country is panting behind urgent solutions to the worsening crises in all fields, and it is slipping with very disturbing speed towards a different and evolving nature of the widening protest uprising, by the act of sit-ins, bandits, and gatherings and protests since A fiery street, once again, against the impact of a dollar whose prices have become soaring with threatening to burn the country in anger and protest.

And amid the high level of talk that the government of President Hassan Diab has become a "clinical death", and there is no hope for it, while replacing it is still dependent on the readiness of the alternative, opposition political sources stressed the need to persuade the Diab government to "get off the tree" to save what could be saved in the lost time of negotiations with the International Monetary Fund.

On the other hand, ministerial sources confirmed to Al-Bayan that President Diab is not in the process of resigning, because he refuses to escape responsibility to the unknown, and indicated that he can resign in only one case, namely that an internal and external consensus be reached on the new government and the name of its president, as for him to intend to leave on the basis of "Stand up for your place," it is "something he cannot accept."

In this atmosphere, President Saad Hariri put a decisive limit on the possibility of his return, during the current era, to assuming the presidency of the government, except under conditions, it seems clear that he is not maneuvering about it, as it is difficult to expect to meet them, knowing that the mere fact that Hariri appeared again, and his handling of the worsening crisis, increased Evidence that the state of the government was presented seriously in the internal scenes, and perhaps also in the scenes of foreign diplomacy, the data began to talk about its circulation, the possibility of government change in Lebanon, in the interest of the government of actual independent experts.
