Syrian Women Council commemorated International Day of Solidarity with Kobanê

The Syrian Women Council recalled the International Day of Solidarity with the Resistance of Kobanê, condemning at the same time the Turkish army's attacks on the north and east of Syria, and calling on all actors to resolve the Syrian crisis to shoulder their responsibilities in order to stop the suffering of the Syrian people and liberate their lands from the Turkish occupation.

The Syrian Women Council issued a statement to the public opinion on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Resistance of Kobanê, which falls on November 1.

The statement included:

"November 1 marks the World Day of Solidarity with the Resistance of Kobanê, the city which stood up to the most powerful terrorist organizations known to mankind throughout their ages. Kobanê resistance came to defend the land and peoples from terrorism so the resistant people came out to defend the dignity of humanity to face with determination to win the victory achieved by them, and the terrorists were defeated and Kobanê was liberated from this criminal organization.

We see today that after the failure of terrorism to control the city of Kobanê, it is directly back from its supporters and financiers of the Turkish occupation state with expansionist ambitions. Since the ninth of this month, Turkey has been attacking the Syrian north which left martyrs and caused the displacement of more than 300,000 refugees. The Turkish interference amid the international silence gives an impression that the Syrian crisis will last longer at the expense of the blood and suffering of our people.

We, at the Syrian Women Council, proudly recall Kobanê humanitarian resistance against terrorism, and at the same time, we condemn the Turkish aggressions on the Syrian territory, condemn this shameful international silence and call on all actors to resolve the Syrian crisis to shoulder their responsibilities in order to stop the suffering of the Syrian people, liberate their territory from the Turkish occupation in addition to holding Turkey the accountable for its aggression and the safe return of refugees and displaced people to their homes."
