This came during a press conference following meetings between Syrian Defense Minister General Ali Abdullah Ayoub, Iraqi Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Othman al-Ghanmi and Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqari.

Ayoub pointed out that the regime will re-establish control over the entire geography of Syria, "Idlib will never be an exception. It is one of the four areas of escalation that have been identified. The other three areas have returned to the Syrian state, and this will be the case in Idlib."
"Security in our region is a whole and not a partial issue and we are ready to help counter terrorism because terrorists are also putting the threat to Iran," said the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
"The next few days will witness the opening of the border post between Iraq and Syria and the continuation of visits and trade," the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army said.
