In this context, our agency contacted the Syrian Liwa Party, which is active in As-Suwayda, to obtain its opinion on these developments, and the response was through the political party's office.

Uprising of the people of As-Suwayda

The Political Bureau of the Syrian Liwa Party indicated that "what happened is an uprising by the people of As-Suwayda Governorate against the practices and violations of the military intelligence of the Syrian regime against the people of the province. In addition to that, what happened is an uprising in the face of Iranian expansion, for which (Raji Falhout) was one of the responsible in As-Suwayda.

"One of the most important results is the elimination of one of the most important rings of the gang network affiliated with the Military Intelligence and Iran in As-Suwayda," he added.

 The tension is not over

And this is not the first time that a state of tension has occurred in this southern region, as with the outbreak of the Syrian crisis and the transformation of the popular movement into a tool to serve foreign agendas, the people of As-Suwayda took a third line by forming political parties and local forces, as a first step to achieve what the people of As-Suwayda aspire to, which is to form  Autonomous administration, as happened in North and East Syria.

This particularity, which the people of As-Suwayda aspire to, raises concern among the Damascus government, which, according to social and political circles from As-Suwayda, has sought to stifle these efforts by supporting armed groups that raise tension there.

Regarding the course of events, the Liwa Party said: "The state of tension has not ended because the (Raji Falhout) group affiliated with the Military Intelligence Division and Iran has its tails spread in As-Suwayda, and they are one network from the north of As-Suwayda to its far south."

The Damascus government did not and will not accept

The party blamed the Damascus government for the instability, saying: "The reasons are due to the security services and behind them is Iran, which is trying to tamper day and night in As-Suwayda."

The party added: "After the uprising that took place, the Damascus government was quick to disavow Falahut through Luna al-Shibl (Assad's advisor), and this indicates the Damascus government's fear of standing up to any uprising that occurs in As-Suwayda.  The gangs are their invention to harass the people of the governorate and keep the security chaos at the forefront of the scene in As-Suwayda.”

The Liwa Party emphasized that the Damascus government “has not and will not accept, for more than fifty years it has not absorbed and has never initiated concessions in exchange for the Syrian people to have a free and dignified life.  distorting the image of the province in front of the rest of the provinces, and this certainly affects the unity of Syria."

What is required is a political solution that satisfies all Syrians

Regarding the subsequent steps, the Political Bureau of the Syrian Liwa Party said: “The movement in As-Suwayda is basically peaceful and there are efforts to end the crises and problems of As-Suwayda with peaceful solutions without spilling a single drop of blood. The appropriate solution at the present time is the administration of the province by its people until an agreement is reached on the  A political solution that includes the lands of our motherland, Syria, and satisfies all segments of the Syrian people.
