Stêrk Kobanê: suppressing woman leads to controlling society  

Leader in the Women's Protection Units, the YPJ, Stêrk Kobanê has indicated that authoritarian and occupying powers try to control societies via suppressing women, for she was able in north eastern Syria to stand up to dangers internally and externally, by joining fighting forces on the ground, and organizing herself in institutions''.

Today marks the annual anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on that leader in the Women's Protection Units, the YPJ, Stêrk Kobanê has said : '' such steps taken by women to reach unprecedented levels of awareness due to heritage and culture of mother goddesses, that spared no efforts to attract the whole society round her, and all endeavours provided in different stage of history were considered as source and fountain for life, for it was she that instructed ethics and culture in society and gave life continuity''. 

Stêrk Kobanê indicated that women by intelligence and ability were able to play the leading role in society, for she was a source of beauty, construction and development, saying: '' in all revolutions all over the world, the leading role was played by woman, for she has always been the first to protect her society, for on such occasions she never stands hands -folded, rather she is responsible for her people and society, so she was found in trenches fighting, she is full of determination, resistance and steadfastness''.

Stêrk clarified that :'' occupying and authoritarian powers by trying to supress woman they want to control the whole society, for she was able in north eastern Syria to stand up to dangers internally and externally, via her political, military and media struggle, woman in Rojava has concluded that liberty of society lies in her's ''.

Stêrk continued as saying that '' the Rojava Revolution of which the woman one by joining the military forces was a starting point for her, and proved that she is able to protect herself and gender against violence, and has become a model for women all over the world, by virtue of philosophy and thoughts of the leader Abdullah Ocalan that made her stronger''.

At the end of her words, Stêrk said :'' we, as Women's Protection Units, the YPJ, have the responsibility of fighting and resistance against all tyrannical and authoritarian powers, and to reach our liberty in a free and democratic society where equality prevails''.
