On October 9, 2019, the Turkish occupation army launched attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and subsequently occupied the cities of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî and massacres were committed. These attacks are still continuing despite the conclusion of the two ceasefire agreements on 17 October between Turkey and America on the one hand, and between Turkey and Russia on the other hand, in addition to the appeals to the international community for the need for a ceasefire in light of the world countries being busy fighting the Corona virus which now threatens all of humanity.
The secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Left Party in Syria, Saleh Keddo, explained that the Turkish occupation, with its brutal attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, transcended all morals and all the laws of the international community.
Keddo referred to the goals of the Turkish state from the attacks it launches on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and said: "The aim of the Turkish state is to exterminate the Kurdish people, and to destroy the achievements and gains made by the Kurds during the 9 years of the North and East Syria Revolution by the blood of thousands of martyrs."
The ranks must be united to protect the gains
Keddo stressed the need for all Kurdistan and Kurdish parties to play their role, deliver their voices to the international community and human rights organizations to take positions against the occupation, the brutal violations and attacks practiced by the Turkish occupation state against the Kurdish people and put an end to them.
Keddo added: "The attacks of the Turkish occupation still continue and what is required of our people and all components of northern and eastern Syria; Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and Turkmens is to stand against this occupation and brutal attacks in the spirit of resistance. Today, the unity of the Kurdish rank and the unity of all components of northern and eastern Syria is required and must take its place in the coming days."
On his part, the Co-chair of the Intellectuals Union in al-Jazeera region shed light on the barbarism of the Turkish occupation state at a time when all countries of the world are busy confronting the Corona pandemic that threatens all of humanity. He said: "In these difficult days when all countries of the world and the regions of North and East Syria are preoccupied with facing the Corona virus, the Turkish state continues its attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and this shows the barbarity of the Turkish state, and its attempt to stifle and underestimate the gains and achievements made in northern and eastern Syria until now, and we believe that it will continue in its attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria; it has been planning for this since ancient times."
Time is the time of survival or annihilition
Meksoo emphasized that in the Intellectuals Union of al-Jazeera region, they will demonstrate their positions against the attacks and violations of the Turkish occupation with their pen and unity, and by holding seminars that show the world the barbarism of the Turkish state, and that they will seek to awaken society and achieve unity, so that they can stand in the face of the occupation.
He appealed to all writers and intellectuals in all countries of the world to show their role in the face of these attacks and violations committed by the Turkish occupation against the people of northern and eastern Syria, and said: "We must stand together in the face of the occupation; it is the time for survival or annihilation."
The citizen Maher Zaeem from the city of Serêkaniyê, who has been living in Qamishlo city since his city's occupation by Turkey and its mercenaries, indicated that the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the regions of northern and eastern Syria are attacks on all components of the region, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and Turkmen, and these attacks do not differentiate between civilians and the military figures.
Zaeem explained: "Our demand is to achieve the Kurdish unity, so that we can face the difficult days, and confront the enemy that seeks to annihilate the people of northern and eastern Syria, the enemy that does not distinguish between civilian and military and which aims to displace the people of the region from its land and eliminate the Kurdish people."
Zaeem continued: "The people of northern and eastern Syria must realize that the Turkish enemy does not differentiate between anyone, for example what they did with me, as I did not cause any harm to them. I am a civilian and the occupation does not allow me to return to my land in Serêkaniyê. They looted my property, and accuse me of being a soldier even though I never took up arms."
Zaeem stressed the need for the people of northern and eastern Syria to join hands with the Autonomous Administration in order to be able to confront the enemy and not allow it to occupy their land.
