The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) claimed that the Corona virus is spreading extensively in areas belonging to the Syrian government, which have issued strict orders to be kept secret and refrain from talking about the spread of the virus.

The Syrian Observatory quoted several medical sources within the Syrian government as confirming that the COVID-19 virus, known as the Corona virus, had spread mainly in the governorates of Damascus, Tartus, Lattakia, and Homs.

According to what the observatory claimed, that many infections have been recorded with the virus, some of which have died and some have been put in a "quarantine", where the Syrian Observatory communicated with doctors in hospitals within the aforementioned governorates, who confirmed that they had received strict orders from the Syrian government authorities to keep secret and refrain from talking about Corona virus spread there.

The Syrian government announced two days ago, as a late procedure, the cancellation of all visits and trips from neighboring countries, while the Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria took precautionary measures to avoid the arrival of the virus to its regions.
