Senior Israeli source: Netanyahu offered Trump, Putin with plan to end Syrian crisis

"The Russian president has shown interest in a proposal by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which seeks to distance Iran from Syria," the Israeli newspaper The Times of Israel quoted a senior Israeli source as saying.

"Netanyahu gave US President Donald Trump a plan to solve the Syrian crisis," the senior Israeli official said.

The same plan was presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who showed interest in the plan, the official said.

According to the official, the plan includes the removal of Iran from Syria, but refused to explain how.

The official raised the possibility of a three-way approach to resolving the Syrian crisis between the United States, Russia and Israel.
