​​​​​​​ Seimalka crossing completely closed till further notice

​​​​​​​The administration of the Seimalka border crossing has announced a complete halt to traffic to and from northern and eastern Syria, except for emergency cases.

The Administration of the Seimalka border crossing issued a statement announcing a complete halt to transit. It allocated one day a week for the humanitarian organizations.

The statement read:

 "The administration of the Seimalka border crossing announces that from the day of 14 March 2020, the Seimalka border crossing will be completely closed to and from Rojava and allocated every Tuesday of each week to non-governmental humanitarian organizations and UN personnel travelling to and from northern and eastern Syria and the introduction of their materials.

Only emergency cases that have to be crossed into the Kurdistan region are excluded from the decision."

The decision to manage the Seimalka crossing is part of a series of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
