Russian security thwart terrorist attack linked to Jabhet al-Nusra

Security forces in the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan thwarted a "terrorist attack", while they arrested a suspect linked to Al-Nusra.

The Russian security forces have arrested a follower of extremist Islam, as he was preparing for a terrorist attack in Bashkortostan, and said in a press release, "A Russian citizen, born in 1995, was preparing to launch an armed attack on law enforcement officers," according to what RIA Novosti reported.

The suspect admitted that he had intended to carry out a bombing attack, and the video tape that the activists filmed after the arrest showed the components of the explosives and the device "that looks like an electric stun gun."

As stated in the messages in his mobile phones, he had received the necessary instructions from mercenary envoys in the "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhet al-Nusra)".
