Russian fighters, gov forces escalate in Idlib; Turkey sends reinforcements

Government forces targeted the vicinity of the Turkish point in the countryside of Jisr Al-Shughour, while Russian fighters escalated their attacks on western Idlib.

Several rockets fell about the Turkish point in the village of “Ishtabraq” located in the countryside of Jisr Al-Shughour, west of Idlib governorate, causing outbreak of fires in some of the bushes near the stationing point of the Turkish forces, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Meanwhile, a squadron of Russian warplanes carried out more than 22 air strikes on areas in the vicinity of the western city of Idlib, the Arab Saeed region, and the vicinity of the town of Patenta, northwest of Idlib, amid the continued flight of aircraft in the airspace.

Earlier in the day, government forces renewed their shelling with shells on areas in Sufuhn, Al-Fatira, Kansafra, the outskirts of Al-Bara, Binin and Falifel in the southern countryside of Idlib, as well as targeting areas in Al-Ankawi in Al-Ghab Plain northwest of Hama, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

In a related development, the Syrian Observatory reported that a new Turkish convoy had entered the "de-escalation" zone, where more than 15 vehicles and trucks carrying logistical and military equipment entered through the Kafr Lusin border crossing with Iskenderun, north of Idlib, and headed towards the Turkish sites in the region....
