Russian delegation leaves Turkey after talks ended in failure again

A new round of Russian-Turkish talks on Idlib ended in failure, as the Russian delegation left Turkey, while the latter said that it insisted on the withdrawal of the regime forces from the areas it controlled.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the talks between Turkish officials and a Russian delegation in Ankara regarding the developments in the Syrian Idlib region had ended, and that the Russian delegation is on the way to its country.

The ministry added: "Turkey has insisted on a stable truce, and the withdrawal of the Syrian army outside the borders of the De-escalation zone."

The talks which took place at the request of the Russian side according to the ministry came after the killing of 33 Turkish soldiers in air strikes launched by the regime in Idlib.
