Russian Defense: 2 Turkish armored vehicles blasted in Idlib

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that two military armored vehicles of the Turkish forces have been detonated in Idlib, northwestern Syria.

The Major General Oleg Goravlov, the director of the Hmeimim Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, which belongs to the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday evening: "The terrorist formations that are not under the Turkish side continue to take operations to destabilize Idlib region of De-escalation."

Goravlov said: "On March 24, an improvised explosive device, planted by the terrorists on a road through which a Turkish convoy drove its patrol near the town Sefohen in Idlib governorate, exploded. The explosion resulted in inflicting damage to two armored vehicles and wounding two Turkish soldiers."

He stressed: "The terrorist formations carried out during the past 24 hours 7 bombing operations in Idlib area, while no violations of the ceasefire system were observed by the armed factions loyal to Turkey."

He concluded by saying: "The Russian Reconciliation Center calls on the leaders of the illegal armed formations to abandon provocations with weapons and take the path of a peaceful settlement of the conditions in the territories under their control."

Although an agreement has been reached on a cease-fire in Idlib, mutual shelling continues.
