Russia, Turkey truce is collapsing … Syrian regime controls two villages in Idlib countryside

The Syrian regime forces took control of two villages, south of Maarat al-Numan, with extensive air and land cover, despite the declared truce by Russia and Turkey.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that clashes continued at a violent pace on axes in the eastern sector of the Idlib countryside, between the forces of the regime on the one hand and mercenary groups affiliated with Turkey on the other hand, in a continuous attack by the first in an attempt to annex more areas after resuming military operations on Yesterday Wednesday.

The forces of the regime were able to advance and control during the past hours the villages of Abu Jarif and Tel Khatrah, located east of the town of Saraqib and south of the city of Maarat al-Numan, with extensive air and land cover.

As intense air strikes continue on the axes of fighting by Russian planes in addition to targeting the city of Maarat al-Numan and villages in the countryside of Abu Dhour.

This escalation comes despite Russia and Turkey announcing a new truce in Idlib, following a meeting between the presidents of the two countries, Putin and Erdogan.

And contradictions of statements between Russia and Turkey and the regime about the armistice and the security meeting between the three parties.
