The two co-chairs of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Abdul Hamid al-Muhbash and Berivan Khalid and their Deputy Elizabeth Quriya have received the delegation.
A closed meeting was held in front of the media between the two parties at the headquarters of the Executive Council of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in the district of Ain Issa.
After the meeting, William Rubak made a statement to the media in which he said that their visit came to help and support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Autonomous Administration (AA) in terms of security. He continued, "We will strengthen our relations with AA and SDF in the second phase of the campaign against the sleeper cells of Daesh after defeating them geographically."
Rubak noted that they discussed with the officials in AA how to provide services to the people of the region, especially in terms of security, he continued, "We appreciate the efforts of the people of the region and our partners in SDF to eliminate terrorism, and we will continue to work with our partners to serve the people of the region."
And about the establishment of an international tribunal to try IS' elements, Rubak said, "We did not discuss this issue today with the AA, but the subject is very important, we are discussing it with our allies and the other parties, and we appreciate the region's efforts to protect IS' elements who are existed in the area, pending a way to try them."
