President of European Council: Turkey must stop its attack immediately

Reuters quoted the President of the Council of the European Union Donald Tusk as saying: "The cease-fire declared Turkish combat in northern Syria is not a real cease-fire," and called Ankara to stop attacks in Syria immediately.

"The so-called cease-fire is not what we expected. In fact, this is not a cease-fire, it is a call for the Kurds to surrender," said Tusk from Brussels.

He added: "We must reiterate our call to Turkey to put a permanent end to its military action immediately and withdraw its troops and respect international humanitarian law."

European countries strongly oppose Turkish attacks on northern and eastern Syria, and many European countries have banned the supply of arms to Turkey.
