Pompeo: We will stay in international arena, protection Hormuz strait, Gulf security

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today attacked Iran's interventions in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, and identified his country's priorities in the coming period on the international stage which is protecting the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring gulf security.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said today that Washington condemns Iranian interventions in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, stressing that Iran is exploiting Iraqi and Lebanese youth for its interests, and stressing that the United States protects the Strait of Hormuz and guarantees gulf security.

Pompeo's remarks were part of his speech at the Munich Security Conference, where he listed America's security and military achievements in the face of ISIS and Iran.

Pompeo noted that the United States has fought ISIS and its extremist ideas, and succeeded in getting rid of Al-Baghdadi,"we worked hard to prevent ISIS from obtaining safe havens."

He said: His country rejects German accusations that Washington is withdrawing from the international arena, stressing that sovereignty is the foundation of the West, democracy and justice as well.
