'Our demands, hunger strikers' are one and will not back down'

Dozens of members and administrators of the Education Committee in the Democratic Society, the Golden Crescent Movement and the Culture and Art Body in Afrin arrived today to the sit-in tent for the sixth day, and assured the protesters that they continue in the struggle to achieve their goals.

The sit-in tent, set up by Kongra Star, continues in solidarity with the resistance of hunger strikers demanding the lifting of the isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan. The members of the Education Committee of the Democratic Society, the Golden Crescent Movement and the Culture Body in Afrin have attended at the tent.

"We stand in solidarity with the resistance of hunger strikers because our goal is one: to lift the isolation of the leader of the Kurdish people, Abdullah Ocalan," administrator in the Golden Crescent Movement Rumet Bako said

For her part, a member of the Education Committee of Afrin canton Berivan Omar said that they will continue to struggle with determination and will not retreat from their goal and their basic demand, namely to lift the isolation of Ocalan.

The audience listened to the assessments of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan on the role of women in society and the importance of women's organization, then the parliamentarian Laila Guven, who has been on hunger strike for 159 days, demanding the lifting of isolation from Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.
