Merkel in quarantine

The German government announced on Sunday evening, putting German Chancellor Angela Merkel in quarantine, after it was confirmed that one of her doctors had contracted the new coronavirus

The government said in a statement that the German chancellor had decided to undergo home quarantine, following reports that the result of a test by the doctor who gave her one of the grafts showed that he had been infected with Covid-19.

The statement added: "The Chancellor was informed after a press conference today that the doctor who gave her a preventive vaccine on Friday contracted the virus. She will be subjected to medical examinations for the new disease."
