Media: Russian-Turkish joint patrol on road "M4"

Russian media reported that a joint military patrol by the Russian and Turkish sides was launched today on the international road "M4", in the framework of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

According to Russia today, "the patrol started from the town of Tarnaba, which is located two kilometers from the city of Saraqib, and is expected to reach the town of Ain al-Haour."

"On the Russian side, units of the military police participate in several armored vehicles, while the operation is being organized by the Russian-Turkish joint coordination center that was established to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire in Idlib."

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on March 5, reached a new agreement on a ceasefire in Idlib, and the establishment of a "safe passage" in specific areas on the "M4" road.

This is not the first agreement of its kind, as both Russia and Turkey reached previous agreements, all of which have failed, and led to a major escalation round between the two sides, during which Turkish soldiers were killed.
