Mali ... At least 30 people killed in attack on north of country

The Malian army announced the killing of about thirty people and the injury of five others in an attack carried out by jihadists in northern Mali.

On Friday morning, the Malian army reported that an attack targeted a camp in Tarquent, north of Gao, that left about thirty dead and at least five wounded.

The military forces in Mali confirmed via Twitter: "The death toll by the attack rose to about 30, while five people were injured."

The army had announced earlier that a "terrorist attack" targeted its camp in Tarquent, noting that two people were killed and ten got wounded.

This attack, in which thirty people were killed, is the deadliest targeting the Malian army since four months.
