Macron: Turkey's sending of Syrian mercenaries to Karabakh is dangerous, we to discuss it in coming hours

French President Emmanuel Macron announced today that his country has "accurate information" confirming that Syrian mercenaries sent by Turkey to fight in Karabakh, describing it as a dangerous matter, and affirming his country's support for Cyprus and Greece against Turkey.

Macron said after his arrival in Brussels to participate in the European Union summit: "We have accurate information indicating that Syrian militants left the battlefield in Gaziantep (a region in southern Turkey) to join the fighting in Karabakh."

The French President added: "This is a very serious matter. We will discuss this in the coming hours at the summit."

On the tension in the eastern Mediterranean, Macron said: "There is no room for discussion about our solidarity with Cyprus and Greece in the eastern Mediterranean crisis with Turkey."
