Lawyers demand Orgs to undertake duty towards Ocalan

Lawyers of ed-Dirbasiyya called on international organizations to take their responsibilities towards the hunger strikers in Bakur, and pointed out that Turkey was violating international covenants.

The MP Leyla Guven health's status is deteriorating day by day as a result of her hunger strike to lift the isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, in addition to the bad situation of all strikers who joined to her hunger strike in the parts of Kurdistan and Europe.

During interviews held by Hawar news agency (ANHA) about the hunger strikers, the international silence and the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, ed-Dirbasiyya's lawyers denounced the international silence about the isolation and the hunger strike process.

The lawyer Bakr said, "States and organizations that call themselves Human Rights organizations must move away from their personal interests and move towards the situation of hunger strikers because day by day their situation is getting worse, and organizations and countries have to put pressure on the Turkish state to achieve the strikers' demands."

Lawyer and member of the Union of Lawyers in al-Jazeera region Hassen Mesto noted that the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan sought the freedom for all oppressed peoples and not only the Kurdish people. "Therefore, the Turkish state is not entitled to his detention because he defended the rights of oppressed peoples and worked for the loss of Kurdish identity and culture which Turkey has been targeting for centuries to obliterate."

Mesto said that the silence of states and humanitarian organizations was evidence of their participation, saying, "the countries and humanitarian organizations ignore these massacres and violations committed by the Turkish state, and this is evidence that they are partners to the crimes of the Turkish state."
