Lavrov to the Gulf to discuss situation in Idlib, Syria in general

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will start a tour of the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, to discuss the situation in the Syrian state of Idlib and the formation of the so-called Constitutional Committee and the return of Syria to the League of Arab States.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow is in the process of informing its Arab partners about the situation in Idlib and efforts under the Astana formula to eliminate the remaining terrorist gangs, launching the work of the Constitutional Committee, as well as helping improve relations with the other Arab capitals.

The dispute between Russia and Turkey over the past few days over the situation in Syria, where after talks between the two sides the regime forces have escalated its bombardment of the so-called demilitarized zones Russia expressed its resentment of Turkey's procrastination in the implementation of the Idlib agreement and said that Jabhit al-Nusra's mercenaries dominated more than 90 percent of Idlib after the agreement.
