Kurdistan Green: Human rights organizations, UN must pressure on Turkey to reveal Ocalan's status

The Kurdistan Green Party called on international human rights organizations and the United Nations (UN) to put pressure on Turkey, force it to move the leader Abdullah Ocalan to a safe location and allow his lawyers to visit him.

This came through a statement issued by the Kurdistan Green Party on the background of the outbreak of fires in forests on Imrali Island where the leader Ocalan is held. The statement said:

"The Turkish fascist authorities hold Mr. Abdullah Ocalan in conditions of severe abstraction, and have tried many times to put his life in serious danger.

The outbreak of fires on Imrali Island where the leader of the Kurdish people is held puts his life again in danger, and this may be done with a sordid plan.

Therefore, we demand the international human rights organizations and the United Nations to put pressure on Turkey, force it to transfer Mr. Ocalan to a safe place, allow his lawyer to visit him and to come out with a statement that reassures the Kurdish people about his health and safety and his comrades imprisoned with him."
