KRC calls on international organizations to support Washokani camp

The Kurdish Red Crescent called on organizations operating in the camp to open a laboratory analysis section.

There are 12,000 displaced people from 1,862 families at Washokani camp which was opened on November 1, 2019.

With the establishment of the camp, the Kurdish Red Crescent has undertaken to provide healthcare by opening a medical center with a number of departments and specialties.

The administrative of Kurdish Red Crescent  at Washiokani camp, Jihan Amer, indicated that they lack an analytical department though there are more than 5 organizations operating at the camp.

Jihan added that the organizations in the camp do not have specialists and ambulances, and illness cases create a great burden on them. She continued, "Every day we transfer more than 9 people to Al-Hasakeh and Tel Tamr hospitals only for analysis."

Amer, upon opening their centers within the camp, demanded the relevant organizations to provide assistance to the Kurdish Red Crescent by opening departments and specializations  and establishing a laboratory for the analytical department.
